Hunger and Malnutrition Crisis Resurfaces in Niger

Tyco International Joins Action Against Hunger to Provide Thousands of Liters of Clean Water in Haiti

To expand the reach of its water distribution efforts in Haiti, Action Against Hunger announced today that it has received a $100,000 grant from Tyco International to help provide clean water to people in need while longer-term repairs are made to existing supply systems and sanitation infrastructure.
Food Scarce for Thousands of Nicaraguan Families

MANAGUA, NICARAGUA—Food stocks have run out for thousands of families across the Corredor Seco region of northern Nicaragua, Action Against Hunger | ACF International announced today. Because of erratic rainfall associated with the effects of El Niño, more than half of this year’s harvest was destroyed, leaving the population highly food insecure.

PORT-AU-PRINCE, HAITI—Action Against Hunger | ACF International has provided emergency services in clean water, nutrition, and sanitation & hygiene to more than 100,000 people since the earthquake rocked the Haitian capital one month ago today. The humanitarian organization has also expanding its current operations in Port de Paix and Gonaives, cities that have experienced an influx of hundreds of thousands of earthquake survivors from the capital.
