About Nick Radin

Nick Radin, Water, Sanitation & Hygiene Advisor

Nick Radin has been the Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) advisor in the New York office since July 2008. He first joined Action Against Hunger (ACF) in 2003 and has since worked on missions in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Afghanistan, Burundi and Somalia. On his first three missions, Nick worked as a Water and Sanitation Program Manager, providing integrated responses in emergency and post-emergency contexts. On his fourth mission, in Somalia, he worked as a Program Coordinator following all WASH, Food Aid, and Food Security programs in the south-central regions.

Nick is British, and prior to joining ACF he carried out graduate and post graduate studies at universities in the United Kingdom. He obtained a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Edinburgh, and a master’s degree in engineering for development from the University of Southampton. Nick’s first contact with Action Against Hunger came during his post graduate studies, when he was sent on a three-month placement in the Nicaragua mission, during which time he wrote his dissertation on the sustainability of water systems installed by ACF after Hurricane Mitch.
